A 15-year-old girl was shot and killed by police on Tuesday afternoon, reportedly about the same time as the ‘guilty’ verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial came in. It now appears that the girl’s name is Makiyah Bryant.
“Columbus Police said one person was killed in an officer-involved shooting on the east side of the city Tuesday afternoon,” NBC reports.
“One person was initially taken to Mount Carmel East hospital in critical condition, according to Columbus Police, and was pronounced dead at 5:21 p.m.,” the report continued. “Columbus Police said the victim is not a police officer.”
WBNS reported on the incident.
NBC4 also reported the police would not reveal exactly what happened.
A crowd has gathered to confront the police officers on the scene.
The protesters have continued to gather as the nation is still on edge after the Chauvin trial.
But this may be yet another case of people jumping to conclusions before all of the facts are in. There are reports the police were there to investigate a stabbing. Further reports indicate that the girl charged the police officer with a knife. However, some claim that she was defending herself against another female attacker. The Columbus police department has not yet provided a statement.
Much like the case of 13-year-old Adam Toledo in Chicago, Americans are being led to believe that the case could have happened to anyone, rather than someone posing a threat to others.
“Police said the initial call for a stabbing was received at approximately 4:30 p.m., with the shots fired call coming in at 4:45 p.m,” NBC continued.
National Guard troops have been called to cities around the country to be on standby if there is more rioting over the George Floyd case. Andy Ngo reports that Antifa plans to riot regardless of the outcome.
“Portland Mayor [Ted Wheeler] has declared a state of emergency in the city,” Ngo reported. “Oregon state police and national guard are also on standby. #Antifa have put out flyers calling for violence tonight regardless of the trial outcome.”
Protests were planned ahead of time in New York City:
L.A. is in a heightened state of alert.
The radical left is looking for an excuse to riot and the Columbus case, regardless of the facts, may provide another reason.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said following the Chauvin ‘guilty’ verdict that it wasn’t good enough.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib made a statement to the same effect.
Amid all of these inflammatory statements, this is the worst possible thing that could have happened at the worst possible time.
