Read It: Trump Reveals Why He Launched His New Social Media Platform in New Statement

Former United States President Donald Trump announced the launch of a new social media platform, and explained that the move is about “saving our country.”

The new platform, called Truth Social, is part of the new Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG). 

An Oct. 20 press release by TMTG stated: “[TMTG] will soon be launching a social network, named ‘TRUTH Social.’ TRUTH Social is now available for Pre-Order in the Apple App store. TRUTH Social plans to begin its Beta Launch for invited guests in November 2021. A nationwide rollout is expected in the first quarter of 2022.”

The TMTG website includes this statement by the former President: “We are inviting people of all political stripes, and all different viewpoints, to come and participate once again in the great American debate.”

Martin Avila, CEO of the internet infrastructure company RightForge, stated that the new platform will be “cancel culture-proof.”

“If you believe that the President should be de-platformed, we believe that you’re not really interested in living in a free country,” Avila told Axios. “And that’s really what we’re all about is making sure that America stays true to its core ideas, and that the marketplace of ideas stays open.”

Facebook suspended Trump’s account for two years, and Twitter permanently suspended his account.

Trump’s new platform could accommodate 75 million users in the first few months and soon begin to rival its largest competitors.

As posted by Trump spokesperson Liz Harrington, Trump stated the following: “Last week, I announced the creation of a major new company that will challenge the dominance of the Big Tech giants and Big Media bosses. …For me, this endeavor is about much more than politics. This is about saving our country….”

Avila noted that Trump’s disagreements with Facebook and Twitter, as well as Amazon’s decision to de-platform Parler, were factors in the former President’s decision to work with RightForge to establish a forum where conservative views can be expressed without fear of cancellation.

“I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech,” Trump stated in TMTG’s press release. “We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable.”

“I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon,” continued Trump. “TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all. I’m excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech. Everyone asks me why doesn’t someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!”

Avila makes no apologies for developing a conservative-leaning platform. In an interview with Fox News, he admitted, “We are absolutely ideological.”

Cameron LaBerge wrote in an op-ed for The Western Journal that the sentiment of many is, “It’s about time!”

LaBerge also pointed out that he believes the issue is more about facing the truth than it is with Big Tech.

“We suppress the truth we know to be true and believe the lie that reality can be conformed to our version of Wonderland,” LaBerge wrote.
